Hi & welcome to my blog. You may be wondering why I decided to name my blog "Solid Roots"? The name comes from Isaiah 61, which I have accepted as my own mission in life. You see, 5 years ago I decided that I would become a counsellor. My desire was to help those who felt broken, bound or lost. Isaiah 61 states that God's heart is for people to experience freedom, wholeness and direction. In verse 3 God states that He wants his people to be called "Oaks of Righteousness" instead of living with a spirit of despair. "For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations" verse 11.
My desire is that people will not feel as if they are a broken or weak sappling, but through my counsel and God's principles they will become like solid trees, with healthy roots. Trees also have the benefit of purpose in their community. Purposes such as, producing fruit, providing shade, even cleaning up the air we breathe. As people become trees with healthy roots, they also become beneficial to those around them.
If you like my vision for our world, and would like to learn how to flourish, I invite you to continue checking out my blog. I will seek to continue posting ways in which you too can flourish like the oaks.
